  • How do I upload audio files for transcription?

The simplest way to submit audio is to upload the file via our drop box. We also offer direct FTP transfer in some cases. You will receive instant confirmation and we will return a quote to you within minutes.

 

  • Is the site secure?

All sensitive information, including file transfer and payment transactions are handled by reputable 3rd party providers which guarantee

1. Secure transfer via SSL
2. A hardened datacenter, protected by best practices security methods
3. Optional "out of band" measures employed by customers to maximize security

HIPAA compliant document naming and storage is available at request for an additional fee, but is not offered as standard.

 

  • How much does it cost?

Most simple dictations and 2 person interviews are charged at 90p per audio minute, plus a £2 online admin fee to cover payment processing charges. For other types of dictation, such as focus groups, please submit your audio for a quote.

 

  • How do I Pay?

All online card payments are processed externally by Pay Pal (we do not have access to your card details) and are subject to a £2 admin charge. Alternatively, we can invoice you on a monthly basis. UK Transcription is a Limited Company, but is not currently registered for VAT.

 

  • How should I name the audio files?

The file names are unimportant and are not used by us in any way to identify the files. You will be asked to provide an email address when you upload files, and we identify clients according to the email associated with the upload.

 

  • What level of detail can you transcribe? Will my transcript include urms and aahs?

It's up to you. Please state your requirements when uploading your file. There is no extra charge for verbatim transcription.

  • Is character naming included?

No, character naming attracts supplemental charges. Please submit your audio for a quote. As a general guide, it will cost between 5p and 10p per speaker, per audio minute.

 

  • Can you adhere to my formatting standards?

Please supply us with a sample and in most cases we will imitate the desired format free of charge. Complex formatting schemes may attract further charges.

 

  • How do you deliver transcripts?

Transcripts are delivered by email. We do not offer a general printing service at this time.

 

  • How do I Pay?
